OUR VISION

Our vision for KLS remains simple: to offer the highest quality learning platform for life saving cardiovascular and pulmonary resuscitation. As an active member or a recent student we welcome and eagerly await your feedback so we can tailor and enhance the programs. We look forward to hearing from you via this website and our Facebook and Google+ channels.

Our goal is to provide and facilitate basic and advanced cardiopulmonary life support training courses. We aim to precept the potential instructor candidates while getting them certified in their respective fields.

OUR HISTORY

Kashmir Life Support (KLS), a division of the Guru Charitable Foundation (GCF), was started by Drs. Minan Faris, Khurshid Iqbal and Khurshid A. Guru. Dr. Faris, an American Heart Association (AHA) certified instructor, led the first, free, AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) training program in 2012. With the rousing reception and feedback we received, KLS is now one of the key health education and training programs.

The program has four-AHA certified instructors under the guidance of Dr. Khurshid Iqbal in Kashmir. Our AHA certified instructors are the backbone of KLS. Without their knowledge, dedication, easy going nature and teaching ability, our training courses would offer little value. This is why the instructor certification and selection process is one of the most important functions of the current KLS faculty.

The program has recently added Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) / Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) and Trauma LIfe Support (TLS) training in addition to BLS, ACLS, EP-ACLS (Experienced Provider Advanced Cardiac Life Support) and KLS Junior. We continue to offer one-off, specialty courses, led by our visiting faculty. These specialty courses help pave the way for a more permanent offering.

The training equipment and manikins are state-of-the-art which help our students practice and learn skills within scenarios using the very latest available equipment recommended by the AHA. KLS ensures a minimum student / instructor / equipment ratio and thus maximizes the learning and skills training potential.
